Our Story

The Breast Cancer Endowment Fund of Clark County (BCEF) was founded in 1995 by two remarkable women, Gretta Runyan and Millie Stockdale. Both personally affected by breast cancer, they turned their own challenges into a mission to help others. Gretta and Millie saw that many women in our community faced not only the emotional and physical toll of breast cancer, but also the financial burden of treatment. Determined to make a difference, they created BCEF, a local organization dedicated to ensuring that no woman has to go without the care and support she needs

Our Mission

We provide financial assistance to women and men in Clark and Champaign Counties who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Whether it’s stepping in to help with the cost of a mammogram, a wig, a post-mastectomy bra, or other breast-cancer-related items, our goal is simple: to provide dignity and hope while helping to ease financial stress so women can focus on healing and recovery.
